Lowering the flow

Ruby is on 0.5L and 21% O2.  That's almost nothing!  It's looking like she might not even need the canulas.  Only time will tell.  She's been making progress on her sedation weaning also.  She gets 0.2 of morphone every six hours and 0.2 of versed every 8 hours.  We are slowly but surely getting rid of both of them.

As for the infection stuff, she finished her antibiotics on Monday.  Her white blood cell count was on the high end of normal so her doctors decided they will check  again on Thursday.  So we'll just have to wait and see.  Lets all hope she doesn't have an infection that will cause us to stay any longer than we have to.

Now for the fun stuff.  We had a couple visitors this week.  Ruby got to meet one of my former coworkers, Brad and my good friend Natalie.  It was so nice to get to show her off.  It was also nice to see a couple familiar friendly faces.

Ruby is doing alot of normal baby things.  It's so nice to be able to interact with her.  She's bright eyed and full of smiles a lot these days.  She has her moments of withdrawal and crankiness, though.

Bath time really is FUN!  At least that's what we tried to tell Ruby.

Last but not least.  The million dollar question.  Really it is a million dollar question, since Ruby's medical bills are pushing that amount.  We don't know when we're going home.  We are close, but close could be anywhere between 2-4 weeks.  If she has an infection, all bets are off.  We promise to let ya'll know as as we know.  Until then we just have to wait for Ruby to tell us when she's ready to come home.
