Checking things off the list.

Ruby is off of the Versed!  Today is the first day of her life that she didn't recieve Versed.  She handled it wonderfully.  She even tolerated me replacing her NG tube without needing a rescue.  She is getting morphine every 12 hours. Hopefully tomorrow it will go down to every 24 hours.  Pretty soon there won't be any reason to keep her in the hospital.

Before she can be released she has to pass a car seat test.  She has to be able to sit in her car seat for the length of our flight home without having any problems.  We brought the car seat in this evening so she could do the test overnight.  When we left she was sleeping peacefully in her car seat.  Hopefully she handles it for the required three hours.

We don't have a date yet.  We know it'll be pretty soon.  Just like most other things we won't know for sure until the day before she is discharged.  We will stay in Philadelphia for at least 2 weeks once she is released.  Then if something happens she is near the Doctors that know her.   Whenever we do get discharged I'm sure Ruby will have nothing but smiles.
