Last night my good friends Laura and Frances came over some girl time. Ruby got to join in. We were talking and catching up so much we forgot to take pictures.
Ruby's is doing much better now that we have restarted the Diuril and KCl. She has had several big diapers and is breathing better. Hopefully the pulmonolgist feels the same way. She did have a stuffy nose throughout all of this. Like everything else that has happened their could be more than one cause.
Ruby also had her first appointment with her new speech therapist. We had a fun session and got a few tips on working with the oral aversion. I hope to implement them in the coming days. We did have to go to Dell Children's for the appointment. Next week we have an Early Childhood Intervention evaluation scheduled. A therapist through the state will visit us at home. We need to weigh the benefits of ECI compaired with our health insurance benefits and see what will work best for Ruby. A home visit will nice during the winter months. That way we can avoid the germ ridden Children's Hospital.
We are getting settled in at home. We FINALLY able to use some of the baby things our friends gave us. Ruby loves to sit in her highchair and join us for meals.

Ruby has also been rock'n out with her dad in the evenings. She was getting kinda tired when this picture was taken. She's not able to rock to late yet.

Other than pulling out her NG tube on a daily basis, things are going OK.
Look for more pictures of Ruby meeting Austin this weekend.

Wow, she's already grown in
Wow, she's already grown in just a few days. So glad to hear that you are enjoying being home and that the meds are working. And great news on the speech therapist. All these specialists are invaluable, we found that out with Alina's physio. Well, sounds like Ruby is already a star in Austin...we didn't doubt that for a moment :0).
All the best!
I bet you all are becoming
I bet you all are becoming naturals at putting the NG back down. We replaced Weston's so many times during the same day also. Weston would usually grab at the tape and just keep scratching until he gets his fingers underneath and then yank. I don't know how you all do it but we started putting two pieces of tape on his face so if he got one piece off the other one would hold until we got the other replaced that helped in him not ripping it out as often. You all are in our prayers. Ruby is so amazing and such a fighter, hope your appointments go well this week. We have an OT working with Weston and his oral aversion it is amazing what we take for granted and what our kids have to work so hard at.

She just gets cuter each
She just gets cuter each day, huh?! I love seeing how she has just healed and you all seem to be settling in.
Take care! Chanda
So happy to hear Ruby is
So happy to hear Ruby is doing better.. it is so hard to see our babies sick knowing what they have gone thru.. I am glad u are settling in because it is hard to do that sometimes. Many blessings to all of you!
Love,
Joanna
Yay, Rubes! Glad to hear
Yay, Rubes! Glad to hear that putting her back on those meds helped a little. You would think she would get the connection between bottle feeds and no NG tube?! Right?! Silly girl. Even if she's silly, she's still beautiful. Hope she has fun meeting Austin this weekend!! Love and hugs from IA.
