As I sat down to write this post Ruby pulled out her tube. I hope I can remember everything I wanted to say!
Here is Ruby right before she yanked the tube. She's not nearly as happy after I put the tube back in.

Ruby's numbers for 4 3/4 months are:
height 22.5 inches (3%)
Head Circumference 40.5 cm (20%)
Weight 12lbs 1.5 oz (10%)
We're on the charts for heard circ. and weight. Her docotor said he'd like her weight and height to eventually be more proportional. We pointed out (again) that she might be taking after her Dad and not her Mom. We've been given permission to actually let her dictate her feeds a bit more. Which means we can wait until she's hungry to feed her. We just need to make sure she gets the proper amount of milk throughout the day. With the tube that should be pretty easy. We are also going to have a swallow study done, just to make sure she's not aspirating any milk. Hopefully we can get that done in the next couple weeks. We also get to start trying solids. Her docotor agrees with the Speech Therapist that starting to work with the textures of solids might help her oral aversion. The food won't be contributing to overal caloric intake, mostly becasue she probably won't actually eat much. It's gonna be fun trying though. The neat freak in me is al ready starting to cringe at the messes that are going to happen. Sweet potatoes here we come!
Ruby didn't get any shots this time, but Mom and Dad did. We were able to get our seasonal flu shot at her appointment. Her doctor said he'd call us as soon as he gets the swine flu vaccine in.
We head to the pulmonolgist on Wednesday.
We're looking forward to the long weekend. Hopefully we can get caught up on yard work and some much needed relaxing as a family.

Um, I did some checking and
Um, I did some checking and I think I was the closest on the weight guess. What do I win?! I will be there to collect my prize (hoping it's smiles from Ruby in person) in TWO WEEKS!! :) love and hugs from IA.
That's so funny. I brought
That's so funny. I brought up height vs weight and my pediatrician says that it's a misnomer. They do not have to be the same. I was concerned about a 25% difference. I can't see how a 7% difference on a 5 month old would be anything to note. I hate those charts, but I love Ruby. So cute! Just want to eat her up. xoxo Sarah

Height vs. wieght...... the stats are always a challange.
No worries Ruby girl you look like you are giving the world
your own take on what is the right ratio!

GO RUBY!!! YEA!!!! OK, so Ruby has officially surpassed Jaime in weight. (Jaime still has 1/4 inch on her)
So happy to hear that so far, so good!
Take care of yourselves...and that beautiful little princess!!!
Hugs to all!

I'm a lurker (I hope you don't mind) - but your daughter is beautiful. I found you at LFCA before you had Ruby and have been keeping track of her wonderful progress since then. I'm so glad to see how well she is doing. Make sure you post pictures of her eating food...what fun!
(I had my son about 2.5 months after Ruby was born, and he does the same thing she does when he's on his back - arching his back and twisting his head around. Thought it was funny when she did it and he was copying!).
Good luck. :)
