Sorry it's been so long without a proper update. We've busy with the Holiday's. It's been hard to find the time to sit down and post. Granny and Grandpa Starling were here for a couple days. Then "Aunt" Amy came for a quick visit, too. Amy hadn't seen Ruby since right before she was extubated.
Ruby is totally rock'n the helmet. It's actually a DOC Band. I've been having fun decorating it, too. We are still very hopeful that she won't be wearing it for long.
Ruby loves to stand. Her sound track this week has definitely included Bob Marley. She will shoot her lags out and lock her knees when you go to set her down. She will even fuss until you stand her up. She has also started getting up on all fours and rocking. Crawling is only days away at this point. She's also learning to communicate with us. If we take something away that she shouldn't be playing with she will let us know how unhappy she is about it. She finally started saying Dada this weekend. Up until now her only "words" were Ma and almost Ella. It's funny how her second word is our cats name. She does however call all cats and dogs Ella. I am still telling people
I am still telling people about all the fun I had just sitting on the floor with Ruby and playing. That and how I got lucky and the putting in of the feeding tube adventure was way less dramatic than I was expecting. Good thing all I had to do was hold her hands!! Thanks again for letting me stay with y'all for a short visit. Hopefully next time it will be longer. Love and hugs from IA.

What a fun video! Jaime says, "Aboo" consistently for his bottle and "mama" when he's mad. He's starting to say "da ded" for Jared and "daddy" which is mostly pronounced "da deeeee"
I love the baby babble! :)
I can't believe how well Ruby is feeding herself...Jaime is so not that coordinated! He does put his food net to his mouth, though.

Haha. Anthony's first or second word was "Dag-n-a" which we couldn't figure out until watching video of him a year later...it also turned out to be the cat ("Catherine").

Cute talking video! Our cat Miko perked up and walked over to the computer to watch Ruby talk. When the 'dadadada' started, Miko leaned in to smell Ruby's face on the screen. Miko loves Ruby!
