I'm trying to get some work done, but I just wanted to make a quick post and say that Ruby is having a better day today. They weighed her around 3am and she'd lost about 116 grams, but she looks far more skinny than that today. If she can stay on the right track, she'll pee off all the extra fluid in a few days and then hopefully we'll be back in business for having a cardiogram in and deciding the next step to take. She gets so fussy when she's so edematous. But she was feeling well enough this morning to kick off her booties. So I think she's getting back to her feisty self.

I second the "edematous" comment from below. I was quite impressed with the large verbage. Yet even so , it is amazing how many new words you learn when you have a child in the NICU. How those words become almost common place. And how you expect that you will never forget them. (I never have). I hope today has held it's betterness for your kikkin (remmember she's a true Texan) baby!

We have been thinking of
We have been thinking of Ruby and you guys so much the past couple days! I even dreamed about Ruby last night and it was a funny dream. I dreamed they finally took her off of ECMO and was getting her ready for surgery and when they were taking her tube out of her mouth she began to talk. Everyone in the room was saying things like "How can you talk so early, little Ruby?" Her response was "...I can hear a lot more than you all think I can when on ECMO and I'm a very fast learner".
Ha!! Ha!! Wasn't that a cute dream?? Maybe a little humor to lighten your day...
We are SO THANKFUL for a better day and will continue to hope and pray for each day to get a bit better and better so she can have the surgery and hey, if she starts talking, don't be surprised. ;)
