Life in the NICU is hard to explain to those who haven't experienced it. You become friends with the other parents without ever having talked to them. You can tell what kind of day they are having just by the way they are walking. I wouldn't wish the experience on my worst enemy. Today we saw just how grim the reality of this place is.
Today the little boy across from Ruby passed away. He too was on ECMO, but had a different diagnosis than Ruby. We feel for the little ones family.
Words can't describe how it is to watch someone else go through your worst nightmare.
Please keep Nathan's family in your thoughts and prayers. They had to say goodbye to their son tonight.
